Voodoo Kings album cover
This image was done in the studio for The Voodoo Kings album cover. I built the box 5 x 5 feet and lined it with red velvet, a 1963 Fender Jaguar guitar, and the other props. Dallas artist Turner VanBlarcum supplied the bones. The band are great guys and we had fun working together. They loved the final art and used it for the album poster and cd package.
The image is comprised of three separate exposures; the first was for the lit candles, the second was a flash on the entire set, and the third was light painting the final exposure with a flashlight.
Art Direction and photography by James Bland.
